Contentment is not the fulfillment of what you want, but the realisation of how much you already have.
The only thing that will stop you from fulfilling your dreams is you…. Tom Bradley
In the lives of so many people in the world today, there is a void, an emptiness that they try to fill with money, success, relationships or food, drink, cigarettes, sex, and drugs. What causes this deep void, this pit that seems impossible to fill? Why don’t the obsessions, the addictions, the hardest efforts, result in that elusive feeling of complete fulfillment?
Often we have heard of the term ‘chasing rainbows’, but we haven’t stopped to understand what this ‘rainbow’ is. Is it social status, power, love, acceptance…? The truth is that it is all of these, and yet, none of them, for they are all only the superficial facsimiles of inner fulfillment.
It is because we do not understand the truth of what we chase, that our ‘rainbow’ constantly appears to be beyond the next mountain. We chase money, when in fact we truly seek abundance. We cannot stop buying status symbols, when what we truly yearn for is acceptance and a sense of belonging. We spin through relationships when in fact we deeply need nurturing. But, the need for abundance, acceptance, nurturing, belonging, is only a mirror of a deeper need… the need to be fulfilled.
The key to fulfillment is self-discovery. We will continue to feel poor in one area of our life or another, till we can truly appreciate how rich we truly are. Net worth has become a commonly used term today, but inner worth is often derided as naïve, spiritual trivia. Obsessions, addictions and nagging discontent point our attention to the lack of self-esteem, because we are scared to fully acknowledge our spiritual core.
Let us look closer at the word ‘ful-fill-ment’. See it now? To be full … filled …. without any emptiness. Do you experience this in every area of your life? If not, ask yourself ‘why’. You are fulfilled when you are doing whatever you are passionate about. You are empty when you do what you ‘must’ or ‘should’. So many work so hard at jobs, which they consider they ‘must’ do because they need to earn a livelihood, to support a family, to meet social obligations. Each night as their heads touch their pillows, they experience a silent but deep regret, discontent, inner fatigue.
Goethe opined: Wherever a man may happen to turn, whatever a man may undertake, he will always end up by returning to the path which nature has marked out for him. Goethe was referring to the passion in our life. When the soul traverses the path it has chosen for itself, it experiences a passion so strong that this abundance spills over into all areas of life: material, emotional, mental, familial, and social. Focus on your passion, and the money shall follow. Embrace your passion, and love will enfold you gently in its arms. Acknowledge and BE the purpose of your existence, and you will naturally belong to ALL. This is one of the vital Laws of the Universe… the Law of Attraction.
When there is fulfillment within, you experience the joyous stimulation provided by unmet desires. These desires fuel our existence and help us shape our destiny. Instead of fanning the fire of envy and despair, they are empowered by our passion, making us reach further, jump higher and persevere in self-belief.
Your passion is the key to your highest success. Yes, your road may be different from another’s, but you will not be lost or go astray. When you unhesitatingly surrender to your passion, its bright light guides you out of the maze.
Discover your passion. Acknowledge it. You hold in your hand a Master Key.
